Project Description

The aim of the project is to:

  • Describe the purpose and requirements of copyright and fair use legislation as it applies to the individual classroom. (Lanie)
  • Explain how the development of fair use standards for specific disciplines has impacted the application of fair use. (Paul)
  • Explore the risks of legal action being taken against a faculty member for the use of copyrighted materials in their individual classrooms. (Paul)
  • Provide recommendations on compliance with established school standards and steps to take if such standards appear to inhibit creativity within the classroom. (Lanie)
